ESG Structure Management
ESG/ Sustainability activities at The Surveillance Group are managed and developed by our inhouse Sustainability Committee. This is headed by the CEO and consists of all major department heads. The Committee takes decisions on The Surveillance Group’s overall ESG strategy, including the setting and monitoring of targets as well as the review and implementation of key stakeholders' expectations.
Science Based Targets Initiative
In July 2023, we joined the Science Based Targets initiative, which is an organisation seeking to ensure that all greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets are science based and feasible. This organisation sets standards and guidance for companies seeking to set targets, validates these targets and publishes regular progression data and resources for companies of all sizes. TSG joined the SBTi in order to formalise our commitment to reducing our emissions and to ensure that our goals were science based and realistic. Our targets are published on the SBTi website and our own sustainability page.
TSG has committed to:
Reduce scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2022 base year and to measure and reduce scope 3 emissions.
Reduce scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 90% by 2050 from a 2022 base year as part of our NetZero commitment.
2024 Figures
Scope 1: Direct emissions from owned/controlled operations (Measured in metric tons CO2e) 419.385 (-9% REDUCTION FROM 2023)
Scope 2: Indirect emissions from the use of purchased electricity, steam, heating, and cooling 10.7 (-5% REDUCTION FROM 2023)
Scope 3: 58.333 (-6% REDUCTION FROM 2023)
Social, Community Relations, and Charity
In order to give back to our local community, TSG will be running regular food bank drives in our office to help support Worcester Food Bank. We aim to provide additional resources to Worcester Food Bank, by providing items that are in high demand and running bake sales and other in-house fundraising events to support the members of our community who may be facing hardship and hunger.
The Surveillance Group is committed to fostering strong community relations and will be aiming to help more disadvantaged groups over the course of 2025 and into the future.
TSG’s chosen charity for 2025 is Scotty’s Little Soldiers. Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a charity for bereaved military children, aiming to restore the connection between children and the military community, offering emotional support, outstanding development opportunities, and the chance to smile again.
Throughout the year, we’ll be running fundraising events to raise money for Scotty’s Little Children, and to spread awareness of their message in the workplace. If you have an idea for an event you’d like to run, please get in touch with the Social Team.
